# Business Analyst
Business analysts research and understand the strategic position of businesses and companies in relation to their markets and their stakeholders. They analyse and present their views on how the company, from many perspectives, can improve its strategic position and internal corporate structure. They assess needs for change, communication methods, technology, IT tools, new standards and certifications.
## Core workflow
1. Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
2. Maintain library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
3. Identify or monitor current and potential customers, using business intelligence tools.
4. Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions.
5. Communicate with customers, competitors, suppliers, professional organizations, or others to stay abreast of industry or business trends.
6. Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.
7. Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
8. Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications.
