Legal Assistant

Legal assistants work closely together with lawyers and legal representatives in the research and preparation of cases brought to courts. They assist in the paper work of cases and management of the administrative side of court affairs.

Core workflow

  1. Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  2. Negotiate contractual agreements.
  3. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
  4. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  5. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.

  7. Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
  8. Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
